Parachute ~ Epilogue Teasers

Bella gazed out of her kitchen window, seeking serenity in the large expanse of lush, verdant grass. There was a large treehouse, which looked more like a small cottage, nestled low in an enormous tree, close to the middle of the the yard. She felt the heat of a glare upon her back and took a deep breath before turning around.

Glittering green eyes met hers angrily, causing her to sigh.

“What now?” she asked tiredly.

“Why can’t Riley and Garrett spend the weekend? It’s not fair, Mom. I never asked to move to this stupid place!”

Bella rubbed her temples, the onset of a headache quickly attacking her temples.

“Jack, baby, we’ve already gone over this. Your dad is out of town for work and I just don’t have the energy to deal with all three of you this weekend. And knock it off about the house. You know you love it and it's not that far away from our old one.”

FADV Victoria POV Teaser!

Since there's no Parachute teasers this week, I figure we could tease the Victoria Outtake for the FADV fundraiser. (Fandom Against Domestic Violence)

Everything was fine. Our lives, manageable. That is, until James took his yearly trip to visit his parents in Seattle. I was clingy and needy; begging him not to go. He was rough and cruel, leaving me by the side of his bed as he walked out the door to catch his plane. I made my way home and found my hidden supply, swallowing down pills that I couldn't even identify; trying to block out the need and panic that his leaving erupted inside of me. I couldn't just let him leave like that, so I tried to find someone to take the kid, under the guise of traveling to my mother's in Phoenix for an emergency. No one was available, so I decided to just take him with me. How much trouble could a three-year-old cause?

Parachute ~ Chapter 36 Teasers

Chapter 36

The boy's feet pounded up the stairs frantically. Bella rushed and got to her door, just as she pulled a sundress over her head. Jack rushed into her room, his eyes scanning the room frantically.

"Jack, baby, what's wrong?" she asked, innocently.

"Mom!" he screeched. "Who clothes are downstairs on the floor?!"

"Mine?" she responded, sounding more like a question.

"Not all of them. There are a dude's pants and shoes." He narrowed his eyes at his mother. "Are you cheating on Dad?! Mom! How could you?!"

The sound of something knocked over in the bathroom drew Jack's attention. His eyes widened.

"Is there someone in there?" he whisper-yelled.

Bella bit her lip and tried not to laugh as the boy stalked over to the door.

"Come out, now," Jack called out. "If not, I'm calling my Grandpop. He has a gun!"

Parachute ~ Chapter 35 Teasers

Chapter 35

"I miss you, too," Bella replied in a sigh, reaching out to touch the computer screen.

"One month, Bell. One month and I'll be there by your side. It can't go by fast enough."

She couldn't help but return the bright smile that was etched across his face and nodded in agreement. Her brow scrunched in confusion when a bell rang from her laptop's speakers.

"Where are you at?"

Edward grinned sheepishly. "I'm at the bookstore a few blocks from the office. I've been coming here for lunch. It might sound weird, but I kinda feel closer to you here."

Parachute ~ Chapter 34 is up!

FFnet Chapter 34

A Dream Within A Dream

by Edgar Allan Poe
(published 1850)

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow --
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand --
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep -- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

Parachute ~ Chapter 34 Teasers

Chapter 34

"I love you," she whispered, a lone tear falling silently.

"Ssh," he whispered against her lips. "Don't do this now. Don't say goodbye to me like this."

Bella ignored his words and pressed up against him. "Please, Edward. I need you."

He reached down, one hand cupped her cheek and the other gripped her bottom, pulling her closer. His tongue delved into her mouth, tasting the sweetness of red wine still on her tongue. The kiss, which started out soft and gentle, quickly turned desperate and demanding.

Bella flung her arms out, grasping at the ledges while Edward pressed her back against the bookshelf. She let out a moan and flung her head back, ignoring the sting of pain from hitting the books behind her. She writhed and panted as his lips trailed down her jaw settled at the base of her neck. One hand left it's perch to run through his hair, lightly scratching his scalp.
