Fandom for Preemies Update

Teasers for the Parachute: Jack POV Outtake!

You’ve been gone for too long, Jackson,” she spoke in a sickly sweet voice. “Mommy missed you.”
He shook his head. “No, you’re not my mom anymore. Bella is. She loves me.”
The woman cocked her head to the side. “No, no she’s not,” she replied. “You’re coming with me. Renee is going to stay and take care of her daughter. You are going home with me. Don’t you want to see your Daddy?”
His heart started to hurt and he felt so sad thinking about his dad. He wanted to see him and hug him so bad, but not if he had to leave Bella.
“Yes, I want Daddy,” he whispered, “but I’m not going with you. Never again.”
Anger flashed across her face and she hit him across the cheek. His hand shot to his face and rubbed the stinging area. His mind whirled and he remembered flashes of the last time she had hit him. Crying on a plane and staring out at the sky. Calling out that he wanted Daddy. Being dragged into an empty bathroom. Being hit when he wouldn’t quiet down. Having his pants pulled down when he only cried harder.
He fell down on his bottom, overwhelmed with memories. His mother reached for him again, but he scrambled away.
“No, you can’t have me!” he yelled at her.
From nowhere, he felt strong arms wrap around him from behind, forgetting that Renee was in the room. His mother walked slowly towards him and reached out for him. He struggled and tears started to fall.
“No! No! NO!”

From the Fandom For Preemies blog:

Preterm birth is a serious problem affecting children across the world. Every year over 20 million children worldwide are born prematurely. Over 1 million of these children will not survive. 1 in 10 of those who do survive will face life-long health complications and risks directly associated with their preterm birth, including serious complications such as cerebral palsy.

The reality is frightening, but it's not hopeless! Thanks to the work of the March of Dimes and its global partners, the survival rate of premature infants is higher than it has ever been.

During Prematurity Awareness Month this November, Fandom for Preemies, with your help, will raise funds to support the March of Dimes as they work to eliminate this global issue. The March of Dimes is the world's largest nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. In 2009 alone, they contributed over 20.3 million dollars to eliminate preterm birth, birth defects and infant mortality across the globe.

In thanks for your support of this worthy cause, fanfiction authors across the fandom will donate one-shots, story outtakes and original works for a compilation. Those who donate a minimum of $5 to the March of Dimes during the month of November will receive this compilation in appreciation.

  1. O.O I can't wait to read this!

  2. Oh this a preview of what's to come? Is psycho mom going to kidnap Jack with crazy Renee as her accomplice?
    I hope it's just a nightmare!

  3. I looked on the Fandom for Preemies blog, but could not find it, when will Jack's POV be posted over there? Or is it going to be part of the outtakes on either FanFiction for TWCS? Your teaser above has me GOING CRAZY!!!

Just read Chap 24---OH MY GOSH!!

  4. The Outtake is available now to those who donate a minimum of $5 to the March of Dimes and forward a copy of their receipt to the Fandom for Preemies email address. Last time I checked, the document was just over 1400 pages long (iirc) and there are 100 other authors who donated their words to the cause!

If a donation, isn't possible for anyone, it's more than understandable. The Outtake will be added to Parachute's other ones just after Christmas. The fundraiser is running for the entire month of November.
